I’ve long been interested in the stories of past lives that can be uncovered by antique objects and interiors. While working at the Birdsell I’ve found inspiration in the mansion and the people who’ve lived and worked in it throughout its history. I’m drawn toward nostalgia and its powerful therapeutic affect, and realize that some of the objects and material I collect might elicit a similar response in others. I’m excited by this opportunity to share each other’s past.

For the past two months I’ve used this room in the Birdsell as my art studio. I think of the studio as a work of art: the design of the room, it’s atmosphere, and social interaction it generates. You’re welcome to come in, and please don’t hesitate to sit down, sift through things, have some snack or a drink and relax.
